How we price, and how we get paid

Two things decide whether a comparison site is worth reading: where the numbers come from, and who pays for them. Here are both.

Where the prices come from

Prices are collected from each vendor's own public product pages, either from a data feed the vendor supplies or by an automated daily check of the page where they publish the price. Every price carries the date it was last confirmed. If a check fails or a price goes unconfirmed for 7 days, the row is flagged on this site rather than quietly left to go stale.

Right now 82 of 82 listed prices have been confirmed against the vendor's site. Anything unconfirmed is labelled “awaiting verification” — treat it as a starting point, not a quote.

Why marker counts differ from vendor claims

A panel advertised as “80+ biomarkers” often counts calculated values — an LDL/HDL ratio, an eGFR derived from creatinine — as separate markers. Counting that way makes panels look larger than they are and makes two panels impossible to compare. Our counts come from a hand-built list of what each panel measures, mapped to a shared registry, so the same marker is counted the same way everywhere.

How the tables are ordered

Every table sorts by price, low to high, by default. Vendors cannot pay for position, and there is no sponsored row. The affiliate relationship changes what we earn, not what we show.

How we get paid

This site earns a commission when you buy through some of the links below, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never affect the prices shown or the order of results — every table sorts on price, and vendors cannot pay for placement.

State availability

New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island regulate consumer-ordered lab testing more tightly than other states. Availability is noted per vendor, but confirm at checkout.

What this site is not

It is not medical advice, and marker count is not a measure of clinical usefulness — a well-chosen panel of twenty markers can be worth more than a scattershot eighty. Which tests you should run is a conversation with a clinician. What they cost is what we can help with.
